Reni King's family home in Amarillo, Texas, like many in Texas and Louisiana, was not equipped to handle the bitter cold that's plaque the south. King, 25, has lived in Colorado before but claims Colorado was never as bad as the bitter cold in Texas.

King and her family retreated to a local hotel when their house's power started to cut off and the pipes froze.

A few rooms in their home had heat while they were away. The family pets were in those rooms. However, their daughter's room did not have heat.

When the King family returned home to get more clothes, the fish tank in the daughter's room was almost a complete block of ice. The molly fish that was in the aquarium was frozen in the ice.

King took to TikTok to show what happened. Many TikTok users suggested she thaw the fish as molly fish can take cold temperatures. The problem is, this molly is a tropical molly fish.

King defrosted the aquarium but the molly hasn't been brought back to life in the process. King hasn't thrown out the fish yet in hopes it will come back to life but most feel like the fish is a goner.
