Barbra Streisand and Elvis Presley have teamed up to do Elvis' 1956 hit 'Love Me Tender' on her upcoming duet album Partners out Sept 16.

Presley and Streisand were very close in the 70s, she even offered him the lead in A Star Is Born which ultimately went to Kris Kristofferson.  Streisand went into Presley's dressing room during a Las Vegas engagement and offered him the lead.  He was very excited.  Presley aspired to be a serious actor.  But Colonel Tom Parker, Elvis' manager, declined the offer.  Elvis was devastated.  Many feel working with Streisand would have put back on the right track.

Fast forward nearly 40 years, and here they are working together after all.  With the approval of Elvis Presley Estate, Streisand's voice has been added to an all new version of Presley's Love Me Tender which was also the title of the 1956 movie in which Elvis was killed.

Partners is a duet collaboration with male superstars such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Buble', Lionel Richie, John Legend and others.  Click here for an exclusive listen.
