Early Morning Exercise: Rowing On The River

I travel to Pittsburgh from time-to-time to visit Shannon, and this is a common scene on the Allegheny River: a rowing crew going through their workout.

Shannon's apartment building is one block from the river, and many in the apartment complexes use the riverbank as an area to walk their dogs.

As I walked Violet this morning, I couldn't help but think about how cold it must be out on that water: it was 35 degrees at the riverbank, protected from the wind!

There are a few different teams that practice in this area, from what I've read, both at the high school level and the college level.
