Deputy In Louisiana Assists Mom With Clogged Toilet
(St. Tammany Parish) - The internet is applauding the efforts of duty in Southeast Louisiana after this agency shared a photo of him attempting to unclog a toilet.
According to a St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office social media post, the mother of three young kids had a plumbing issue at home, and when no one was around to assist, she took to the roads.
Daijalyn Tyson was so desperate to get someone to help her and her kids that she started driving around in tears, hoping to see anyone, and as her luck would have it, she came across a deputy returning to his district office.
The mom of three young kids approached the deputy as he exited her vehicle, and she asked if he could do anything. After consulting with his superior, the deputy was granted permission to follow the mother home on a slow night to assist with her plumbing issue.
Sgt. Will McIntyre went into Daijalyn's home and did what most of us would do if we had to address a clogged toilet, he used a plunger and hose, but to no avail. However, he says he "Gave it hell," and even though the deputy couldn't resolve the plumbing issue, many on social media are applauding his efforts.
In the post shared on Facebook by the Sheriff's Department, the mother of three young kids had this to say about the night that she felt no one was on her side:
“Before I saw him, I felt like nobody was on my side. He was. He didn’t have to do that. I know he didn’t clock in and plan on working on someone’s toilet, but he just knew I needed help.”
Daijalyn Tyson reports that Sgt. McIntyre even showed up at her home the next day to see if the plumbing issue was resolved, and it was. However, the moral to this story is that you never know what someone may be going through when they are distressed, and it doesn't cost you anything to just be nice to them when they feel alone or defeated.
All of us here salute Sgt. Will McIntyre for going beyond the call of duty here, and we are glad that the mother of three was able to resolve the issue in her home.
Here's the viral social media post from the Sheriff's Department, which is certainly worth sharing.
