Celebrated actor and Country music legend Kris Kristofferson has decided to retire from touring.

According to Reuters, the man who wrote Janis Joplin's "Me & Bobby McGee" has decided to retire from touring.

Kristofferson has been working in the music industry for over 50 years and is quite fabled around Acadiana for having flown helicopters out of Intracoastal City for Petroleum Helicopters, Inc. prior to making it big. He actually used his helicopter piloting skills to help get discovered: he once stole a helicopter and landed it on Johnny Cash's lawn just to deliver a demo tape. Cash wasn't happy about the helicopter stunt, but he was very impressed with Kristofferson's music, and the rest is history.

I'm am hoping that Kris Kristofferson will have a few more songs for us before he hangs up his pen.
