Build Your Own Hovercraft
Listen up Dads and Moms who know how to handle a jig saw: You and your kids can build this working hovercraft in just a few hours, with materials you probably have on-hand. Rather inexpensively, too!
Items you'll need include a few sheets of plywood, a shower curtain, some duct tape, a blower, and a cheap plastic chair. Hmmmm... I have all of these items in my garage right now!
This is a great summer project for families, or even a science project for school.
Torben Ruddock, host of Engineering.com video series "Some Assembly Required", can talk you through the build in this video.
