(05:38 AM CDT) Updated - Authorities in Brussels are now saying the death toll in this morning's explosions have risen to at least 20. There is a possibility of even more fatalities as the investigation continues.

Authorities at America's major international airports are now on high alert for the possibility of terror activity on American soil.

Original Story:

( 03:54 AM CDT) Details are still coming in as investigators comb through the damage that was left by at least two different explosions including one at the Brussels Belgium airport. According to a Reuters News Report an explosion took place in the departure hall of the airport. First reports indicate that up to ten people were killed and 30 people were injured in the blast.

A second explosion struck at public transportation station. This station is very close to the building that is headquarters for the European Union.

According to reports shots were fired and there were shouts in Arabic shortly before the blast occurred at the airport. The blasts occurred just four days after a suspected participant in the Paris attacks was arrested in Brussels. That attack in Paris left 130 people dead.

Speculation is that these explosions are of a terrorist nature although no firm connection between the Paris shootings and these blasts in Brussels have been confirmed. The entire city of Brussels has been on  high alert following the arrest of Salah Abdeslam who is believed to be one of the master minds behind the Paris attack. Authorities speculated there might be an attack somewhere in Western Europe in response to Abdeslams arrest.
