Construction of the Bayou Bridge Pipeline through the Atchafalaya Basin will resume.

The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal ruled Thursday to allow Bayou Bridge Pipeline, LLC. to continue construction of the crude oil pipeline in spite of a lower court ruling that halted construction due to possible environmental concerns,

The work stoppage lasted for three weeks since the lower court ruled to halt the construction.

Though construction will resume, it may not be long before rising waters cause yet another work stoppage. Heavy rains around north Louisiana are pushing water from rivers and tributaries upstream toward the Gulf of Mexico.
