Seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong has been stripped of his titles and banned from cycling for life. USADA made the announcement Thursday night.

Armstrong  told the Associated Press he was going to stop fighting charges leveled by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency that he used performance enhancing drugs. He was on a Thursday deadline to pursue further arbitration or accept sanctions.

Armstrong made no admission of guilt. He said he was tired of going through the process of defending himself against what he described as an "unconstitutional witch hunt."  A Department of Justice investigation concluded earlier this year, finding no wrongdoing.  Armstrong issued a statement on his website.
