As we are in full swing in the final season of FOX TV's 'American Idol', we wanted to take a look back at some of the winners from 14 seasons of...magic. Some of them are on the top of the charts still to this day - we're lookin' at you, Carrie Underwood - and some have disappeared into the sunset - Caleb Johnson, anyone? Below is a list of some of my favorites, but you can check out the list entire winners here, and be sure to cheer on Acadiana's own MacKenzie Bourg as he makes his way to the top of the 'American Idol' heap! His audition video is below, and I hope he knows how proud his home town is of him!

Season 2 - Ruben Studdard - just released his 6th studio album, and recently lost 110 lbs on 'The Biggest Loser'

Season 7 - David Cook - lost his record deal in 2012, recently moved to Nashville, and co wrote MCA Recording artist David Nail's single 'Kiss You Tonight'

Season 12 - Candice Glover - debut cd released in 2014, but no singles saw any action. Working on a follow up album, and performs at corporate and sporting events.

Season 3 - Fantasia Barrino - she just goes by Fantasia these days. Four studio albums, a Lifetime movie about herself, and Grammy Awards can't get keep this girl down for long. New album coming in 2016.

Season 5 - Taylor Hicks - a staple on the Las Vegas residency circuit, co owns Alabama BBQ restaurant Saw's Juke Joint, and recently appeared with Dierks Bentley for CBS Sports 'Deer Valley Celebrity SkiFest'.
