The severe weather has been barreling through much of south Louisiana since early this morning, and as a result, one school district has already decided to keep students home today.

According to School Superintendent Darwan Lazard, all Evangeline Parish Public Schools will be closed Tuesday, March 23 due to the severe weather.

Additionally, all district offices will be closed today as well.

The Jeff Davis Parish School System is officially open today but they did post on their Facebook page that due to the heavy rains, many roads in the parish are flooded and buses are unable to pass.

As a result, they are urging parents not to put themselves or their children in danger trying to get to school.

Keep checking back for more updates as we will post all school closures here as soon as we receive that information.
