Acadiana is bracing itself for potentially some strong storms that are heading this way and a handful of school parishes have announced early dismissal for Tuesday.
With heavy winds and rains rolling into Acadiana this afternoon, we are starting to hear of some school systems shutting down early and sending students home.
There are some more school closures that are happening today according to officials with the Diocese of Lafayette.
According to Anna Larriviere, Superintendent of the Lafayette Diocese School System, tells KPEL that the following schools will be closed:

The severe weather has been barreling through much of south Louisiana since early this morning, and as a result, one school district has already decided to keep students home today.
