Suspect Surrenders To Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Deputies After Standoff In Branch

Our media partners at KATC-TV3 are reporting a standoff between a suspect with outstanding warrants and the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office is currently in progress in Branch.

The report says that the suspect is inside of a home that is located just South of the Branch Hwy. The road has been closed in the area.

The reports from KATC-TV3 say that attempts are being made to set up communication between the man inside of the home and negotiators. Acadia Parish Sheriff KP Gibson told KATC that the suspect will not come out of the house.

UPDATE: KATC has reported that the suspect came out of the home with his hands up and surrendered to deputies. The standoff is over.
