Rescue groups have a plea for anyone who finds themselves near the Vermilion River.

Daisy Lynn Landry has been missing since May 23, 2017, and hasn't been seen by her family since.  Twenty-two-year-old Malik Davis of Lafayette has been charged with second degree murder in connection with Daisy Lynn’s disappearance.

The investigation has led authorities to the Vermilion River, and search crews believe that they are closer to finding her remains (cadaver dogs have alerted to an area along the Vermilion).

Kip Coltrin, one of the search crew representatives, has issued this plea to anyone who lives along the Vermilion, walks, jogs, boats, kayaks or even uses a bridge to cross the river. Be on the lookout for anything suspicious. If you find something, DO NOT DISTURB IT; call 911 and report the suspicious find.
