The Better Business Bureau of Acadiana wants you to beware of scammers claiming to be from Opelousas General Health System.

The BBB reports that Deanna LeJeune, the Community Relations Coordinator at OGHS, says the hospital received numerous calls from residents reporting they received calls from (866) 218-7983. The caller claims to be representing Opelousas General Hospital and asks for private information, including prescription drug data.

“Please be informed that these phone calls are not from Opelousas General Health System and we do not call anyone at home regarding prescription drugs,” LeJeune said. “This is a scam. Please do not share any personal information about yourself to anyone over the telephone.”

The BBB reminds you to never give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. For more from the BBB, click here to download their free app or like them on facebook.
