5 Local Games Begin Week 5 Of High School Football

Week 5 of the 2017 high school football season begins tonight, with 5 local games on the schedule.

In a battle of two programs that went deep into the playoffs last season, Kaplan will travel to meet Notre Dame in a non-district tilt..

Kaplan, a member of District 8-3A, is 2-2 on the season, while Notre Dame, the top-ranked team in the Class 2A poll, out of District 6-2A, is currently 4-0.

In other non-district games tonight, Abbeville hosts Marksville, while Highland Baptist will entertain St. John.

There are also two district games this evening, as Opelousas Catholic hosts False River in a District 5-A tilt, while Lafayette Christian travels to Central Catholic (Morgan City) in District 7-A play.
