Being a former beauty queen myself I am super excited that Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the Miss USA competition will be held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 8, 2014.

The announcement was made on TODAY, and Trump had a lot to say on the topic, ""[It's] just a place that really wanted us, We had about 12 places that were fighting for the rights, and we just decided that's sort of the home of pageantry, it's sort of the home of the whole beauty thing. They're terrific people, and they're going to put on a great show. Usually we go to Las Vegas. We never fail in Las Vegas. It's great, but we thought we'd move it."

The competition will feature contestants from all the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The contestants will be judged on the categories of their interview, evening gown, and swimsuit.

The organization along with Louisiana is very excited that Baton Rouge was chosen as the premier destination for this competition. For me excited is not the right word, I’m not sure if there is a word to explain how happy I am that this is happening right here in Louisiana.

And of course if you can’t make it to the competition it will air on NBC from 8-11 p.m. E.T.
