I grew up as a big fan of the work of actor Michael Keaton, especially his starring roles as Beetlejuice and, of course, Batman in the 1989 film of the same name. Batman made me the huge comic book fan/nerd I am today, but it also made me an even bigger Keaton fan.

I'd heard and read great things about Birdman, but just never got around to seeing it in theaters. I watched the Oscars last night, hoping Keaton would win Best Actor more than Birdman would win Best Picture, but was happy to see that Keaton would get new recognition and exposure.

I decided to see when Birdman would be released on video and was surprised to see it's been out for a week! I performed more Internet sleuthing and found that the movie is not available on any type of disc in the the usual super stores in Acadiana. Here's where you can get a physical copy in Lafayette, along with the streaming/download options currently featuring the movie. If you've already seen Birdman, let us know what you thought of it on Facebook!

Physical copy: here. (only place carrying it in Lafayette, and they were down to 3 copies this morning!)

Digital: buy on iTunes or YouTube,  rent on Amazon, iTunes, Flixster, and Vudu.
