Tropical Storm Bertha Approaches Caribbean

MIAMI (AP) — Tropical Storm Bertha is approaching the Caribbean with winds near 45 mph.

Tropical storm warnings have been issued for Puerto Rico, the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and other nearby islands.

The National Hurricane Center in Miami says Bertha is likely to pass near or north of Barbados this afternoon.

It's not expected to significantly change in strength over the next two days.
