Trees: Staple of Acadiana’s Beauty [PICTURES]
I know that this is a simple thought, but as I drove around this weekend (not aimlessly, I was on a mission!), I started to think about what makes Acadiana so beautiful.
My thoughts came back, every time, to our trees.
The parks are nice, but it's the trees that give them shade.
Our bayous are beautiful, but I think it's the moss hanging from the trees that make them so serene.
Our neighborhoods look barren without our trees.
As a child, in science class, when I learned that trees 'clean' our air, my love affair began. I spent many hours climbing the trees in our back yard, and on the 'bike trails' behind our neighborhood in Abbeville.
With all the hustle and bustle, traffic, phones, work, etc., one can always find peace, sitting under a tree.
Just watch out for the ants....
