St. Thomas More In National Top 100

The St. Thomas More Cougars are ranked #79 in the 2011 Rivals High top 100 high school football teams.

The Cougars are the third highest ranked team in Louisiana, behind  #52 West Monroe, and #78 Edna Karr, New Orleans.  After a 13-1 season last, year they're moving down from Class 5A to 4A, but face a tough out of conference schedule that includes Westgate and Barbe, as well as Nothside & Breaux Bridge. The defense returns only 3 starters, where 7 return on the offensive side of the ball.  Head coach Jim Hightower says he believes in challenging his players and staff. 

"It is my philosophy to schedule tough games. "There is no reason to just look for easy wins. Of course I don't know if I would have any other choice since it isn't like teams are begging to play us."     - STM head coach Jim Hightower
