Threats by hackers to commit terrorist attacks linked to the release of the December 25 release of 'The Interview' have led Sony to cancel the film's release. The largest multiplex chains in the U.S. had already decided to pull the film from their lineups in light of the threats. Sony's statement said that the studio 'stands by our filmmakers and their right to free expression and are extremely disappointed by this outcome,' according to The Associated Press.
