With the NHL playoffs underway, the league has tapped hip-hop icon Snoop Dogg to eloquently explain some hockey slang used throughout each match up on the ice. When the Dogg speaks, people tend to listen. There's a certain mystique to having the rap mogul orate a speech with a tone that can't be duplicated.

"An apple is an assist. A biscuit is the puck. All these food words and I'm getting hungry," Snoop proclaims to kick off the episode. "A clapper is a slap shot. Not the thing you use to turn the lights on and off. In hockey flow has nothing to do with rhyming. It's about wild hair."

The Long Beach native moves into the last couple of puck terms, which the kush connoisseur knows he can also implement into any smoking conversation. "Pipes are the goal posts. I'll use it in a sentence. That guy hit the pipe. Let's talk about stoned. Stoned is when the goalie makes a great save. What did you think I meant?" he jokes.

Snoop continues to evolve as a businessman and musician, boasting an ability to be successful in just about any arena. Last month, the "Who Am I" rapper released his gospel album Snoop Dogg Presents: Bible of Love to critic acclaim.

The Doggystyle MC's relationship with the NHL goes back some time, as he hosted their skills competition event during All-Star weekend in Los Angeles just last year. Tune into the NHL playoffs as the games continue on NBC Sports Network at 7 PM EST tonight with the Boston Bruins visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs.
