The Associated Press reports new Chicago Bears coach Marc Trestman is wasting no time assembling his staff after being hired on Wednesday.

New Orleans Saints offensive line coach Aaron Kromer will reportedly be the Bears' new offensive coordinator.

Kromer served as the Saints' head coach for six games this season, going 2-4 while interim head coach Joe Vitt was suspended for his role in the alleged bounty scandal.

Saints head coach Sean Payton has stated that when teams have success, other teams will court their assistant coaches. The 2012 season notwithstanding, the Saints have been one of the NFL's most successful teams in recent years. Prior to the 2009 season, Syracuse University hired Saints' offensive coordinator Doug Marrone as their head coach. Marrone was recently hired as the Buffalo Bills' head coach. Prior to his suspension, former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was hired by the St. Louis Rams.

Kromer joined the Saints in 2008,  as running backs coach. He moved to the offensive line in 2009. He and Trestman worked together on the Oakland Raiders' staff. Trestman has most recently been coaching in the CFL.
