I guess you could say Robert Meachem is like a cat. He seems to keep landing on his feet. The former Saints wide receiver is back. Meachem was cut from the team Saturday, when final cuts were made to trim the roster to 53 players. Nbcsports.com reports, he was re-signed Wednesday, after linebacker Khairi Fortt was placed on injured reserve, freeing a roster spot. Meachem was drafted by the Black and Gold with the 27 overall pick in the 2007 draft. He signed a four year free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers in 2102. They released Meachem after one season, still owing him a reported 8 million dollars. Head coach Sean Payton called him the next day. Meachem appeared in 15 games for the Saints in 2013. The Saints don't carry a #3 quarterback, enabling them to have 6 wide receivers, Biletnikoff award winner Brandin Cooks, veteran Marques Colston, Nick Toon, and speedsters, Kenny Stills, and Joseph Morgan.
