Louisiana is one of the few places in North America with a culture all its own. We've lost a great contributor.  John Warren Prejean, Sr.passed away on Saturday, at the age of 64.

Prejean was an influential figure on the Zydeco music scene, fronting several local bands. He also worked as a sideman for "Little Bob" Camille, and played trumpet for Warren Caesar. He most recently worked as accordionist and lead singer of the Creole Zydeco Farmers.
Visitation is Saturday morning from 7 A. M. until 1 P. M. at Syrie Funeral Home on E. Simcoe Street. The funeral will be at 1:30 pm at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on Martin Luther King Drive.
