A New Iberia man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on the U.S. Hwy. 90 frontage road at Darnall Road.

According to Master Trooper Brooks David, spokesperson for Louisiana State Police Troop I, 63-year-old Wallace Davis was driving his truck west on the frontage road when he traveled off the road in the left curve and into the grass separator. David said Davis' truck continued across Darnall Road before flipping over.

Davis was not wearing a seat belt, David said, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Iberia Parish Coroner's Office, David said.

It is not known if Davis was impaired, but a routine toxicology sample was sent off for routing analysis, David said.

The crash remains under investigation.
