The Acadiana Chapter of the American Heart Association has changed the face of their upcoming luncheon, "Go Red for Women".

The campaign is being called, "You See Scars".  The point of the campaign is to show not only that women have survived a heart event, but that they have the scars to prove it.

Chairwoman of the 2016 Go Red for Women Luncheon Karen Wyble says, "To really raise awareness, we knew we had to show the truth. So many diseases physically alter a woman's appearance, but heart disease is usually a scar that she tries to hide.  This campaign is about making what many perceive as ugly and showing it is truly beautiful".

Amy Jones, President of BlueArx came up with the new campaign.

Jones says, "I've had the chance to work on many projects, but this is easily one of the most emotional and beautiful experience I've been honored to be a part of. These are brave women and to visually tell their story was humbling"
