First off, I just want to give kudos to MasterChef for calling them by the correct name. It seems that most places other than where they're most prevalent, call them crawdads.

When announcing the ingredient for Wednesday's episode of MasterChef, they call them crawfish, like normal humans.

That doesn't mean that the contestants took lightly to the surprise ingredient. In fact, they seem like they don't know what to do with them...at least when they're still alive.

Even Gordon Ramsey knows that it's not unusual to get "bitten" by them more than once.

Even if you don't regularly watch cooking shows, it's always fun to see what non-Cajuns come up with for dishes involving crawfish, and other Cajun ingredients.

MasterChef airs on Fox at 7pm Central.
