The Facebook user posted the picture to the KATC Facebook page, warning people of her alleged scam.  Here is what the text says:

PLEASE SHARE: There is a middle-aged woman in Lafayette, approximately 5' tall. She has short hair that is always a different color and always has her face made up. This woman has approached me 3 times since July 2013 asking for money. The first time was at the Chevron off of I-10 on University. Her story was that she was in town from Houston to save her daughter from an abusive relationship in Opelousas and had a cracked engine block. She needed $17.46 to buy a night at the Red Roof Inn so that someone could come from Houston and pick them up. I gave her $20 because I was actually on my way to Houston for a wonderful job that I had been blessed with and felt like it was the right thing to do. 4 months ago, she asked me for money at the Shell station across the street. I told her she had asked me for money with the same story more than a year ago. "Well you see, we're still here." I told her that I would not give her any money and shame on her if she was being dishonest. 3 weeks ago she approached me in the parking lot at The Grand 16 on Johnston. At this point I almost lost it. I cut her off 3 sentences into her story and told her that she's asked me 3 times, that I never want her to approach me ever again, that her story is bullsh*t, and that it is absolutely wrong for someone to do what she's doing (I wasn't quite that gentle). I also followed her to two other cars and broke up her conversation to inform other people of this. TODAY (1-7-15) I approached her at the Walmart on Pinhook as she was walking in with another woman who was going to give her something. "So you still didn't make it back to Houston?" She obviously acted puzzled and the woman who was going to help her was quite interested to know what I was talking about. I explained everything and she was just as mad as I was and proceeded to leave. Bottom line, if you see this woman, do NOT give her money. I have absolutely no tolerance for people who would lie like that to mooch of off peoples' emotions and hard earned money.

The photo attached was taken today.

The comments on the KATC Facebook page are quite entertaining (as usual).

Have you seen this woman?  Has she asked you for money?  How did you handle it?  Do you think that the gentleman who posted the picture did the right thing?
