More storms could be pushing further southward, just days after a line of severe thunderstorms swept through parts of South Louisiana.

Meteorologist Scott Pilie' posted this graphic showing a line of storms, which may be severe by the time they arrive here in parts of  South Louisiana, moving in by the weekend.

While it may be a bit early to tell how severe the storms may be, it is worth noting that we should prepare for more rain in the area. There may also be a slight threat of damaging winds with these storms.

According to some of the forecasts that I have already seen, storms could arrive in Acadiana by late Saturday evening.

So, if you're going to be attending a wedding or Christmas party this Saturday evening, you may want to prepare for rain in the area and perhaps the threat of severe weather.

We will continue to monitor this developing weather story and provide more updates here and on this station's mobile app as we get closer to the end of the work week.

Louisiana needed some much-needed rain, and we got it, but more may be on the way very shortly. Some weather models also suggest that we could have a very wet and cold winter down south, time will tell.
