Yet another study has been conducted
, perhaps costing we taxpayers our hard-earned coin. But hey, if we don't pay for these studies, and they don't get done...how will we survive?

It turns out there's a correlation between where you live and the general health and lifespan of your dog and cat (or dogs and cats!)

Experts say it has to do with education and attitudes toward pet care.  "It's all about lifestyle, what your pet means to you and how you take care of them," says veterinarian and epidemiologist Dr. Sandi Lefebvre. "There are different attitudes, different levels of education and they tend to cluster in certain areas of the country."

Sadly, Louisiana is one of the states where pets do not live as long or have the healthiest of lives. Other states in the "poor" category include Mississippi, Alabama, and Kentucky.
