Looks Are Important On Facebook

Looks are important on Facebook.  It is the first place most people look when roaming around on Facebook.

Yesterday I put up a new profile pic on my personal Facebook page just for a change.  The old one was of Elvis and had been used for some time.  I could not believe how many people commented on the new pic in just a matter of minutes.  I didn't really think it even mattered to Facebook users...boy was I wrong!

A new study found that we actually judge people’s attractiveness based on the comments on their profile pics left by other users.  Experts say that when measuring someone up, we rely on other people’s opinions to help form our judgments.

The study also found that people tend to prefer profile photos that feature people in action over simple head shots.
