Britney Spears Confirms Las Vegas Residency + Gets Airsick on a Helicopter [VIDEO]
Britney Spears confirmed the worst kept secret in Hollywood this morning when she soared into 'Good Morning America' on a helicopter to confirm her Las Vegas residency.
Spears will reside at Planet Hollywood, transforming a custom theater into Planet Britney -- and you better believe she's gonna work (b*tch). She'll perform 48 'Piece of Me' shows over two years, taking in about $310,000 per show -- totaling roughly $15 million.
The erstwhile 'X Factor' judge transported thousands of fans into the desert for her big announcement, but unfortunately for the 'Baby One More Time' pop legend, TMZ reports that she fell ill on the helicopter ride to greet them, which she confirmed with a tweet:
Still, Spears was enthusiastic about the move. "I love Vegas," she gushed. "The energy is really good. I'm going to do my greatest hits, but I'm going to have to put some of my new material in to keep it fresh."
But that move is purely a career one: Spears won't be living in Sin City, either. TMZ reports that the shows will be "strictly in and out" for the singer, as she doesn't want to disrupt her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James' school routines. Such a good mom!
