It's official: Country star Keith Urban will be back on the 'American Idol' judging panel this season, making him the only judge from last year who's returning. But, uh, how would you feel about a judge from two years ago? Because producers are also reportedly trying to woo Jennifer Lopez -- again.

(When everyone went crazy for that all-alum idea, this isn't really what they had in mind.)

Today, Aug. 1, Urban announced his participation thusly:

Supposedly, Jennifer Hudson is already a lock to join him, but no one seems to want to confirm that anymore -- so maybe it wasn't as locky as was first implied.

In the meantime, J. Lo is said to be "very close" to re-upping with the show herself, with a source telling PEOPLE, "Both Fox and Jennifer are very happy about this and want it to happen very much ... She couldn't return last year because she had committed to a world tour. But now ... she has more time."

And as for those rumors that she wanted a spinning chair of her very own on 'The Voice' instead?

"Jennifer never had discussions with NBC about being a judge," the insider said. "She was approached by NBC about performing but had to turn it down because of scheduling conflicts."
