Judge Orders Physical, Mental Exam For Saints Owner Tom Benson

A civil district judge in New Orleans has ruled Saints owner Tom Benson must be evaluated by a team of doctors to determine the current state of his physical and mental health.  AP reports, Judge Kern Reese issued the ruling Tuesday, coming on the heels of a Monday ruling in a Texas court that the 87-year-old Benson "needs assistance" in managing his Texas assets, which include car dealerships, a ranch, and interest in a bank. Benson's daughter and grandchildren filed a suit in late January after he announced a change in succession plans, leaving the nearly two billion dollar sports enterprises to his wife, Gayle. These rulings appear to be early round defeats for Benson in a family dispute which could drag on for years.
