Depp made the remark to the crowds at the Glastonbury Festival in England.

Just about every news outlet is reporting on Johnny Depp's comments about President Trump and actors assassinating presidents.

"Can you bring Trump here?" he asked the audience, as he introduced a screening of his film The Libertine.
After receiving jeers from the crowd, he added: "You misunderstand completely. When was the last time an actor assassinated a president?"
"I want to clarify," he added, "I'm not an actor. I lie for a living [but] it's been a while. Maybe it's about time."

Depp has joined the ranks of other American actors who have threatened President Trump, including Madonna and Kathy Griffin.

NBC News reports that the Secret Service is aware of Trump's comments and that they cannot comment on their plans for addressing Depp's comments. Threatening a president is considered a crime and is punishable by fine or prison time.
