If you listened to the radio in the 80's, you heard the unmistakeable voice of Jimi Jamison a lot. He joined Survivor in 1984, having appeared on recordings by ZZ Top, and Joe Walsh. When his heavy metal band, Cobra disintegrated, Jimi was invited to join Survivor. His voice powered the band on hits like, "High on You,'' "The Search is Over", "I Can't Hold Back," "Is This Love," and "Burning Heart" from Rocky IV. He would later replace Ian Gillen in Deep Purple. TMZ reports, Jimi passed away suddenly Sunday at his home near Memphis. He was reportedly not in poor health. Jimi Jamison was 63.
