UPDATE: Both directions of Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish have been re-opened. The investigation into the crash which forced the shutdown continues.

ORIGINAL: Louisiana State Police said they will soon shut down the westbound side of Interstate 10 in Acadia Parish while crews continue to clean up a hazardous materials spill from an overturned 18-wheeler.

State police Troop I spokesperson Master Trooper Brooks David said there is no indication when the cleanup process would conclude, and the interstate would remain closed, he said.

In the meantime, traffic would continue to be diverted to La. Hwy. 91 to U.S. Hwy. 90.
