I traveled through the Dallas/Fort Worth airport this week, and I am hoping that my actions were enough to avoid Ebola.

Of course, the risk of me contracting the disease are about as great as me winning the PowerBall, but I thought I'd give my tips for avoiding any illness while traveling through airports.

There are the basic tips:  wash hands often, use hand sanitizer, avoid picking up random fast-food cups to finish the product or to re-use the straw.

And what I did in Dallas today helped me avoid hundreds of people:  I didn't use the Skylink trains.  My flights, so far today, have been changed/delayed/cancelled at least 5 times, so I have been playing Airport Bingo with gates.  Currently, I am sitting in the "B" Terminal, but to get here I walked.

Want to know what an airport looks like to those who don't use the Skylink (or similar tram/train methods)?  Look at this photo:

I didn't see one single passenger while walking between terminals.  It only took me 12 minutes or so to get from one terminal to the next (not long at all).  The airlines park/recharge the EZ-GO carts in some of these hallways, so I did see a few employees (a total of 5 I'd guess).  Other than that, not a soul!

It's just a thought; if you have mysophobia (a germaphobe), you could save yourself some worry by walking to your next gate assignment, instead of getting on a mass-transit vehicle.  You know, those trains that take off like a bat out of Hell so you MUST hold on for dear life to the handgrip that has been touched by thousands of people - that day.  People who are sick; those who don't wash their hands, and don't get me started on the kids: their hands go from mouth to nose to mommy's hair to the handrail.  Ugh!

Anyhoot, these pictures paint a clear picture of what I experienced today outside of the main terminals.  You'll avoid several people and get a little exercise at the same time!

Again, my chances for contracting Ebola are slim, so there's really not much to worry about.
