When you search for your favorite radio station (hopefully 99.9 KTDY), you don't search it by its "call letters." You look for it by frequency, or "dial position." When new acquaintances asked what station I work at, my answer used to be "KTDY." That prompted another question, "Which one is that?" Now, I simply reply "99.9."  It's kind of a conditioned response.
