Gene Simmons, the blood spitting, fire breathing bass player of Kiss isn't shy about speaking his mind. He's been openly critical of the music industry. He says many native born Americans are unappreciative of the privilege of being a United States citizen. Simmons is a Jewish immigrant, born in Israel. His family was separated when he emigrated to the US with his mother at age 8, and his father remained behind. He was highly critical of the induction of the rap group N.W.A. into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Rolling Stone reports, he referred to the recent death of Prince as "pathetic," and a "Choice."  The toxicology report hasn't yet come out, but there's a lot of speculation the star died from an overdose of painkillers.

"I think Prince was heads, hands and feet about all the rest of them. I thought he left [Michael] Jackson in the dust. Prince was way beyond that. But how pathetic that he killed himself."   - Gene Simmons

He went on to say David Bowie's death was tragic because it resulted from illness.
