No one knows about pickup lines better than bartenders and waiters.  They've heard them all.  And they see people strike out all the time.  So here are four tips from professional bartenders and waiters to help you stay in the game.

• If you are over 50, haven't ever been to a gym and live paycheck to paycheck, you probably don't want to be hitting on a 20-year-old in designer clothes.
• Treat your bartender and/or waiter with respect.  Be polite and always leave a nice tip.  If you treat others with respect, it makes you look like a good person.
• Don't be flashy men.  Women will see right through you.
• Don't try to pickup someone when you are drunk...period.  It's almost always a bad decision.
