Former Ragin' Cajun Dwight "Bill'' Bentley has officially returned to the NFL. Bentley was a standout for the Ragin' Cajuns at cornerback from 2008-11. The Detroit Lions drafted him in the third round with the 85th overall pick in the 2012. draft. The Lions drafted 2 cornerbacks in this year's draft, and he was cut in June. The Detroit News reports, Injuries left the Lions with only 3 healthy cornerbacks. Lions coach Jim Caldwell said,“In the situation that we’re in, we needed a guy to come in that understands the system, that’s capable of playing for us and playing well, which he’s demonstrated.”  Bentley rejoined the team on Wednesday.
