Festivals Acadiens Is Coming!
A few days ago, I wrote a story on this website about the fact that South Louisianans are generally fed up with Summer heat by early September. Fall is a popular season in these parts for several reasons, football, a break from the heat, and Festivals Acadiens et Creoles.
Festivals Acadiens et Creoles 2013 will be October 11th-13th in Lafayette’s Girard Park. It’s one of Louisiana’s premiere events, featuring several festivals rolled into one. Festival de Musique Acadienne 2013 is highlighted by Geno Delafosse & French Rockin’ Boogie, Roddie Romero & The Hub City All Stars, Wayne Toups & Zydecajun, The Mercy Brothers, The Pine Leaf Boys, and many more.
The Bayou Food Festival features some of the finest cuisine anywhere. You can enjoy anything from crawfish etoufee in a puff pastry to alligator sausage, to shrimp on a stick.
The Louisiana Craft Fair will feature dozens of craft booths in
Girard Park on Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 12th & 12th.
Louisiana Folk Roots features children’s activities, jam sessions, and interactive performances.
