Additional Information

You've surely seen the construction fence going up around our beloved Horse Farm over on Johnston Street across from Mels on the corner of Bertrand Drive. It's convenient, and now it's going to become of of the nicest parks in the area.

We’re finally here! At the point where the community has donated enough of the money to start the project of transforming this 100-acre property into a world class park. The construction for Phase One of the Park is beginning now. It focuses on the front 60-acres. There are 2 phases:

The Phase 1 development will include a new bridge over the coulee, walking paths, a beautiful pond, plenty of gardens, tree houses, a kayak launch, an off-leash dog park, a mini-golf course, a Farmers Market Pavilion, and more. This is expected to be completed around the end of 2019.

Everyone is invited to share in the celebration during day 1 of construction. Orange fences can be found all over the grounds, serving as protection for the oak trees in the area during machine operation; please respect these fences.

WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN? HOW CAN I KEEP UP?

If you visit our website and Facebook pages weekly, you’ll see our construction updates, including pictures of the progress. We are so excited that Lafayette and all of the surrounding areas will soon have this beautiful park to use. We cherish the opportunity to oversee the project and bring the ideas of the residents of Acadiana to life.
