‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
Jambalaya, the Musical,‭ is a love story, a musical romp and a joyful celebration of the unique, rich cultures of south Louisiana. Besides introducing the extraordinary community bonds that exist in this part of the country, the story ‬explores the generational pull that most cultures experience. Does the younger generation leave home to pursue their own dreams or do the older generations hold onto the reins? Boudreaux leads us through the story and his 25-year old grandson Thibodeaux, an aspiring songwriter who goes by the nickname “T,” has his grandfather torn between letting him go and convincing him to stay. It’s full of fun, electrifying music and touching moments of the south Louisiana life. ‬ ‬‬‬
The multi-generation cast includes the humorous older cronies, Etienne, Binny, Coco and Remy who still believe in traditions, superstitions and the power of Gris Gris; a group of young millennials with big dreams and heart; and an opportunistic music agent who tries to wreak havoc. Meanwhile, T and his girlfriend Danielle fall under the spell of the Lady in the Moon, a mystical force who brings romantic hearts together.
