Additional Information

The Cope Family Benefit day will be filled with fun for the whole family, as this day is set aside to celebrate the lives of the father and son who were lost during a storm while on a scouting trip.

From 10 - 5, at Henderson Park in Henderson, there will be music, a climbing wall, water slides, a dunking booth, auctions and food (jambalaya and burgers!!).  Entertainment included D. L. Menard, Straight Whiskey and Matt Castille.

Dwight and Dagan Cope, father and son from Breaux Bridge, were on an outing with their Scout Troop (Troop 55)  in Tennessee when they died.   They were hiking in the Smokey Mountains when a severe summer storm caught them by surprise, drowning them both.

If you can't make it to the event today, you can still help the family by donating to the fund set up specifically for them (proceeds are to help with expenses and funeral costs):
