During the Vegas days, Elvis wrote something on Hilton Stationary that was profound, especially since he was one of the biggest stars in the world, and I think I know what he meant.

One night up in the suite at the Las Vegas Hilton, Elvis Presley took out Hilton stationary and a pen and wrote, "I'm the only person I know who can walk into a room full of people and be alone."  Profoundly sad isn't it?  That the biggest star in the world would feel that way.

What do you think he meant.  He had people around him constantly but they were either on payroll or wanted to be around him just because he was Elvis Presley.  After the death of his mother and his divorce from Priscilla, who did he have left that really knew him and truly loved the man not the image?  A man who could have had anything he wanted, at any time of day or night, or who, and he's the loneliest person in the world.

I have to tell you, over the years on a much smaller scale I have felt the same way.  Not that I have the means to have anything I want, but I have shared his sentiment in my own life.  I bet many of you reading this may have also felt that way at some point in your life, you may currently feel that way.

I recently sent a note to someone special in my life that read, "For the first time, I now know what it's like to walk into a room and not be alone.  Thank you for that."  That special someone in my life is not in Lafayette.  I can't imagine what it would be like to have that person here.  I'd never want to leave the house.

Why tell you this?  To remind you, if you have found the person that takes away your loneliness, hold on to them at all cost.  In a world where you never know someone's intentions or whether or not you can truly trust them with your heart, when you find the person that rocks your world, hold on for dear life and enjoy the ride!  And if you haven't found that person, keep looking...don't settle.
