Roughly 209,000 2011-12 Dodge Grand Caravan minivans are being recalled due to faulty airbag wiring.

Dodge manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling the vehicles because the driver's front airbag may deploy unexpectedly due to a short - circuit of the airbag wiring harness, increasing the risk of a crash or an injury to the driver.

Dealers will inspect the airbag wiring within the steering wheel and replace if necessary.

Owners will begin receiving notification of the defect on July 28. Owners can call the automaker at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
